Contributions and corrections

Found a useful fix, tried a solution or spotted something we should change? We would like to hear from you. Share what you know, even if you do not have all the details.

What to send

A short description is enough to get started. A link to an original project helps us look into a suggested solution. For an experience or unsolved problem, device and software details are useful if you know them. You can also offer help with research, testing, instructions, accessibility, translations or connections with relevant communities.

How we use messages

Messages come to us privately. They help us research solutions, improve our descriptions and understand problems that still need a fix. We write the website's pages from that research rather than publishing incoming messages.

If you would like a personal credit, let us know and we can agree what to show. Several people may suggest the same project, so we may acknowledge their help together. Listings link to the original work and credit its creators.

Please leave out passwords, private logs and other people's contact details. Links to original software and guides are more useful than executable files or attachments.

Corrections and concerns

Use the contribution form to tell us about an error, unsafe link or rights concern. Include the page address and explain what needs attention. A supporting source is helpful if you have one. We may temporarily remove a listing while checking a concern.

Our privacy notice explains how we handle personal information. Using this directory explains the service and its limits.
